San Diego Zoo's Footage of Their 'Spicy' Black Footed Cat Has People Talking

On October 1, the San Diego Zoo shared some adorable video footage of their black-footed cat with a helpful reminder that these are not house cats.

Even though these adorable felines only weight between 2-5 pounds as adults, they are one of the world's deadliest hunters.

The video, shared by the TikTok account for @Sandiegozoo, explains, "This spicy kitty is not a house cat. She is a black-footed cat and she's hungry."

Do not care, would still try to cuddle, and TikTok users agree with me.

@Ry asks, "If not friend.. why friend shaped?" Yeah, exactly! If nature doesn't want us to cuddle these animals they should make them look more dangerous. if black-footed cats had giant spikes on their backs and four rose of dagger-long teeth maybe then we would get the hint. @Hannah adds, "Every cat is a house cat if you take it home!" LOL! @JJ makes a valid point with "To be fair I act quite similarly when hungry so maybe she’ll be more up for cuddles after a good meal." yes, she's probably a lot cuddlier after she's been fed. @Mashley comments, "This is why it’s good I never became a zoologist/zookeeper because my first instinct would be to pet them." Same girl, same. @Bridget comes up with a fantastic motto and types, "Hisses get kisses!"

Black footed-cats have a pretty great success rate as hunters, and their success rate in capturing prey is estimated at over 60% of hunting attempts.

That's fair, because this deadly little cutie has successfully captured all of our hearts!
