San Diego Zoo named ‘most Instagrammable’ in US

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — If you’re looking for a good local spot to capture images worthy of posting on social media, the San Diego Zoo might be one of the best places to visit. It has been named the most picturesque zoo in the country.

According to an analysis by BonusFinder.com, the San Diego Zoo topped the list of the top 10 most Instagrammable zoos in the U.S. for 2024. It was ranked for having the highest number of hashtags on Instagram at more than 714,000. The most popular hashtag was #sandiegozoo, with more than 661,000 mentions on Instagram.

Researchers analyzed more than 2,700 U.S. landmarks to come up with the rankings.

The Bronx Zoo in New York City came in second place with over 306,000 hashtags, followed by the one in Los Angeles with more than 271,000.

Zoos in Houston, Saint Louis, Miami, Cincinnati, Lincoln Park in Chicago, Detroit and Denver rounded out the top 10.

The San Diego Zoo also made USA Today’s list of the 10 best zoos in the country in March.
