The most wonderful time of the year has been extended in San Antonio, Texas!

The thousands of lights that make up the San Antonio River Walk's famous holiday display are typically switched off the first week of January, however, this year, The San Antonio River Walk Association has extended the free festivities until Valentine's Day.

"The famous holiday lights on the River Walk have been extended this year!" a social media promotion proclaims. "Come down and enjoy the lights anytime between Monday, January 4, 2021 through Valentine's Day 2021. Lights will remain on from dusk to dawn each night."

The spectacular display of over 100,000 lights (2,250 strings of light) draped over the cypress trees that line the downtown portion of the waterway is a longtime holiday favorite among locals and tourists alike.

America’s longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge will also be the brightest.

This year's celebration, hosted amid the gloom of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, is shaping up to be the lengthiest yet. According to My San Antonio, the 2020 display was switched on on November 12, a few weeks earlier than the traditional day after Thanksgiving start.
