Samsung Reveals the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8

Samsung’s long-awaited Galaxy Unpacked event didn’t disappoint. The company revealed both the Galaxy S22 lineup and the Galaxy Tab S8 during the presentation. And despite some early speculation, the entire Galaxy S22 family will arrive on February 25th. Best of all, pre-orders are now open.

Much of Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked February event was dedicated to the premium S22 Ultra. The smartphone marks a bold design change compared to last year’s S21 Ultra. As such, it takes significant cues from the Note family of products. Specifically, the S22 Ultra now comes with a built-in S Pen slot. You’ll no longer need to buy a case that offers the functionality.

Of course, the S22 Ultra features the usual assortment of hardware upgrades. That includes a powerful new processor and some of the best cameras we’ve yet seen in a smartphone. Here’s a closer look at all three phones in the Galaxy S22 family.

The Galaxy S22 might have been the most exciting reveal, but Samsung didn’t skimp on Galaxy Tab S8 coverage. Significant upgrades have been made compared to 2020’s Tab S7. There’s plenty of new hardware and enough power for all your computing needs. It’ll be available in three varieties: S8, S8+ and S8 Ultra. The main difference comes in the form of screen size. The Ultra boasts a 14.6-inch display, the S8+ a 12.4-inch display and the S8 an 11.0-inch display.

Pricing starts at $700 for the Tab S8, while the S8 Ultra will run you $1,100. Like the S22 Ultra, the Tab S8 is expected to arrive on February 25th.

For the Galaxy S22 Ultra, you’ll get an instant $200 credit. You’ll also get a free upgrade to the 512GB model, with trade-ins worth up to $750. For the S22+ and S22, you can get a free pair of Galaxy Buds 2 or up to $200 for additional purchases.

As for the Galaxy Tab S8, you’ll get a free Slim Keyboard cover and an additional $50 in Samsung Credit. Trade-in offers are also being enhanced. Values go up to $600 for recent tablets and smartphones.
