Kim Petras and Sam Smith just performed their song “Unholy” at the 2023 Grammy Awards, and wow, I am blown away. For starters, Madonna (!!) presented Sam and Kim’s performance and it was truly the only right answer. Sam and Kim continued with their all-red theme that they brought to the red carpet, with the whole arena in red lights with flames bursting in the background. Kim sang her verse in a cage, wearing red spandex, with whips, chains, and devil horns. It was major.

Here, you just have to see it all for yourself:

Yes, this performance was good, but can we also just take a moment to get into their red carpet looks? Kim and Sam brought every ounce of the “Unholy” energy and looked stellar in all-red ensembles, with Sam’s gown custom designed by Valentino’s creative director:

Sam and Kim also brought a whole squad with them on the red carpet, which casually included RuPaul’s Drag Race drag queens Violet Chachki and Gottmik:

We saw Kim and Sam earlier tonight when “Unholy” won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. While Sam nabbed their fifth Grammy win in their career, the moment was extra special for Kim because this marked her very first Grammy nomination and win and she made history as the very first transgender woman to win the award!

When she talked about the significant moment in her speech, the crowd showered her with so many cheers and praise and even a standing ovation. “Sam graciously wanted me to accept this award because I’m the first transgender woman to win this award,” Kim started. “I just want to thank all the incredible transgender legends before me who kicked these doors open for me so I could be here.”

What! A! Night! Love this for them so much.
