Sam Hill Teases Mysterious Announcement
Sam Hill, one of the greatest legends of downhill, racing put up a bizarre teaser this morning on his Instagram filled with highlights and notable champaign moments throughout his career.
Fans immediately began to speculate as to what it could be and a lot of signs are pointing to a resurrection of the Nukeproof Chain Reaction Cycles race team. Take a look at the cryptic video for yourself below.
Last fall Nukeproof and Chain Reaction Cycle's parent company, Wiggle CRC, abruptly filed for bankruptcy citing massive losses and unpaid accounts leaving numerous athletes across disciplines in the lurch without support.
The news was an earthquake across the industry taking fans and insiders completely by surprise. Amidst the fallout of that event, we uncovered that Wiggle CRC still owed Sam Hill over £30,000 which is why it wouldn't be surprising to see Sam perhaps taking over some stake in the company.
As for his teaser, this is all purely speculative, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Sam doing something like what Aaron Gwin did with Crestline bikes last month and grabbing a majority share in at least Nukeproof with the intent to revive the brand and the race team.
Whatever he has cooking, it appears that we will find out about it on Friday so stay tuned for that news when we find out more.
