If you don't want to shop for essentials in person amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Sam's Club announced that it's launching curbside pickup nationwide. The contact-free service is expected to be available at all locations by the end of June.

The Walmart-owned retail warehouse chain has been piloting curbside pickup at 16 different locations. In light of customer preferences during the pandemic, Sam's Club decided to expedite the roll-out, expanding curbside pickup to all 597 clubs across the country. “As we continue to innovate to make the shopping experience better and faster for our members, we’re proud to be able to quickly implement and offer curbside pickup across the country, particularly during a time when they are searching for alternative ways to shop," Sam's Club CEO Lance de la Rosa said in a statement.

Sam's Club's new curbside pickup process is similar to other retailers'. After setting up an account, members can place orders on Sam's Club app or at samsclub.com. Products eligible for the service will be marked with: ‘Pick up in Club.' After completing their shopping list, customers will select a pickup time. They even have the option to pick up the same day they place their order. When customers get to the club, members will need to use one of the designated pick-up spots. Then an associate will load items into their car.

While free curbside pickup is a Plus member benefit, Sam's Club is temporarily making the service available to all members given the current climate. However, non-Plus members pickup times will be limited to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Plus members can pickup their orders from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
