Sam Asghari Shuts Down Author Kelly Oxford for Calling Britney Spears's Instagram Posts "S

"What's so scary about the biggest superstar in the world being herself?"

No matter what — Sam Asghari has girlfriend Britney Spears's back. This week, the fitness trainer — who has been dating Spears since 2017 — defended the pop star, after author and screenwriter Kelly Oxford categorized her Instagram page as "scary."

"This account finally got too scary for me," Oxford wrote on one of Spears's recent posts. Clapping back at her comment, Asghari replied: "“What’s so scary about the biggest superstar in the world being herself (authentic, funny, humble) without caring what others think," he began, adding alongside a waving hand emoji, “We need more people like her and less Karen’s."

He went on to remind Oxford that if she doesn't like Britney's content, that the social media platform "installed this button that you can hit to unfollow about 10 years ago."

Oxford has yet to respond, but apparently, she isn't necessarily a critic. Back in July, she tweeted a link to Diet Prada's Instagram page, debriefing her followers on Britney's ongoing conservatorship battle and how they can help. "For anyone worried about Britney Spears, here is a link for you," she wrote at the time. "There are more actionable links on their IG."

After a court hearing last month, the judge in the case determined that Britney's conservatorship will remain unchanged through February 1, 2021. Earlier this week, Spears and her legal counsel requested several changes to be made to her conservatorship — including the removal of her father Jamie as the sole conservator of her estate — and for the details to be made public.

"Britney strongly believes it is consistent not only with her personal best interests but also with good public policy generally that the decision to appoint a new conservator of her estate be made in as open and transparent a manner as possible," court documents reveal, according to People.

"At this point in her life when she is trying to regain some measure of personal autonomy, Britney welcomes and appreciates the informed support of her many fans," the filing states. "Britney herself is vehemently opposed to this effort by her father to keep her legal struggle hidden away in the closet as a family secret."
