I knew I had to watch Saltburn the moment I saw a TikTok of Barry Keoghan dancing naked to “Murder on the Dancefloor”. This psychological thriller/comedy will take you on a wild ride, so you might wonder which Saltburn character captures your zodiac sign.

It’s no secret that Saltburn has garnered attention for its jaw-dropping scenes. Between the amazing soundtrack and unnerving undertone, it can be challenging to decipher the symbolism of Saltburn. But once you get past the artistic direction, you’ll find that Saltburn illustrates two themes—obsession and classism. What starts as a harmless crush and desire for friendship, Oliver’s feelings become more extreme when he realizes he cannot have Felix. Oliver’s obsession intensifies with each passing scene as Oliver tries to consume Felix’s lifestyle. As this unfolds, the classist undertone becomes increasingly obvious. From warmly welcoming Oliver into her family and estate to planning his birthday party, it’s obvious that Elspeth takes her maternal role very seriously. Despite appearing caring and nurturing, Elspeth continues with her passive-aggressive comments in a roundabout manner. Nothing slips by Virgo’s watchful eye, or Duncan’s for that matter. As the primary butler at Saltburn, Duncan oversees everything for the Catton family. From the first time Duncan appears on screen, it’s obvious that this fastidious butler notices everything that’s off about Oliver. Like a fly on the wall, Duncan is often pictured off to the side of the scenes as if shrewdly noting Oliver’s mistakes and missteps. Despite his attention to detail, Duncan hesitates to address his suspicions about Oliver. Perhaps this is due to Duncan exemplifying the Virgoan trait of analysis paralysis.

Libra: You’re Professor Ware

Even though Professor Ware plays a minor role, he does illuminate Libra’s peaceful, if socially superficial traits. His Libra characteristics shine when Oliver is prompt and prepared for the tutoring session, yet Professor Ware chooses to wait for Farleigh. Professor Ware’s fairness suggests that he knows how to balance Oxford’s social hierarchy. However, once Farleigh reveals who his mother is, Professor Ware subtly switches sides since he would rather be linked to an affluent Oxford student like Farleigh than a student with an unremarkable background like Oliver.

Scorpio: You’re Oliver ‘Ollie’ Quick

From the jump, Oliver’s opening monologue about his intense desire and obsession for Felix screams Scorpio. In true Scorpionic fashion, Oliver sneakily strategizes a way to pursue Felix and the life that Felix lives. Oliver’s intensely dark, sexual energy drives him to covet Felix, like drinking Felix’s bathwater and even causing Felix’s death. Although Felix is undoubtedly Oliver’s main fixation, Oliver also creates sexual entanglements with Venetia and Farleigh. But since Oliver can neither have nor consume the Cattons, he launches a long-term plan of vengeance to take what they have—Saltburn.

Sagittarius: You’re Lady Daphne

You can count on Sagittarius to always keep it real. This Jupiterian-ruled fire sign is upfront about its opinions, which is why Lady Daphne best illustrates Sagittarius’s energy. Lady Daphne only appears on screen for a few moments, but her forward commentary on Oliver’s lack of manners leaves a lasting impression. Lady Daphne is quick to correct Oliver on everything, from talking to her first to his remark on her marriage. Her bluntness could be perceived as brutal, but in reality, Lady Daphne is likely the only member of this affluent society to be so honest with Oliver.

Aquarius is undoubtedly the funkiest zodiac sign, making this air sign undeniably intelligent and occasionally socially awkward. None other than Michael Gavey truly captures the zany Aquarius spirit. Michael’s initially written off since he’s a friendless Maths genius who takes his studies very seriously.
