Salma Hayek Details 'Disastrous' First Kiss Experience

Salma Hayek got very honest about her romantic history, opening up about her unique first kiss experience that quickly went from sweet to dreadful.
The Black Mirror actress spoke with W Magazine about the kiss, noting that it happened in Coatzacoalcos, her "little town in Mexico," before adding, "It was very memorable."
Going into the kiss, Hayek had one goal in mind, and that was "to taste good," telling the publication, "so I kept putting honey on my lips." To a point, it worked out: "I said, 'What did it taste like?' And he said, 'Like honey,' but it's the cliché—that's what they say."
Based on her initial success, Hayek continued putting honey on her lips, only to invite the wrong kind of attention from some insects. She said, "I had an infestation of ants in my bedroom. I burnt my mouth."
"Something that started real romantic turned out to be kind of disastrous," she declared.
The publication asked Hayek if that meant that she had ants crawling around on her lips, and she said yes. W Magazine then commented on the situation, "You made your own horror movie." Hayek concluded, "In Mexico, we eat ant eggs fried in a special way. But live ants, it's a whole different thing."
Luckily, Hayek's love life from then on has been quite successful, with the 56-year-old marrying François-Henri Pinault in 2009, about a year and a half after the birth of their daughter, Valentina.
Hayek is also a devoted stepmother to Pinault's children from previous relationships, including François and Mathilde, whom he shares with ex-wife Dorothée Lepère, and Augustin, whom he shares with model Linda Evangelista.
In 2023, Hayek and Pinault have been happily married for over 14 years, with the two often proudly showing off their love while out and about and on social media.
