Sally Hansen Launches Good. Kind. Pure., a Line of Vegan, 16-Free Nail Polishes

I'd be willing to bet the price of a bottle of Sally Hansen nail polish that you currently have or recently had a bottle of Sally Hansen nail polish somewhere in your home. And if you don't, I'd be willing to bet that's because you've decided to cut out certain ingredients in an effort to achieve a cleaner beauty routine. Well, it turns out Sally Hansen has been trying to do that, too, and the iconic nail-care brand is proving it with a breakthrough new line that makes getting an ingredient-conscious manicure at home easier and more affordable than ever.

Sally Hansen has just launched Good. Kind. Pure., a collection of plant-based, 100-percent vegan nail polishes. (Even the brush is plant-based!) You've heard of five-free and even 10-free nail polishes? Good. Kind. Pure. is touted as 16-free, promising a complete and total lack of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, xylene, acetone, phthalates, camphor, parabens, ethyl tosylamide, triphenyl phosphate, animal-derived ingredients, styrene, synthetic fragrance, silicone, bisphenol A, glycol ethers derived from ethylene oxide, nonylphenol ethoxylate, and sulfates. (And if I'm counting correctly, that's actually 18, so Sally Hansen is just being humble, I guess.)

But what this new line lacks in questionable and often unwanted ingredients, it makes up for in gorgeous color — 30 colors, in fact. The super-shiny, high-performance shades are fittingly inspired by nature, and that's easy to see from their names: Coconut Milk, White Tea, Romantic Peach, Almond Tan, Mother Earth, Raw Cocoa, Elderflower Power, Soft Plum, Pinky Clay, Pink Cloud, Rose Petal, Be-gone-ia, Pink Cardamom, Golden Quartz, Pink Sapphire, Eco-Rose, Coral Calm, Fruity Papaya, Peony Origins, Sweet Berries, Pomegranate Punch, Cherry Amore, Beet It, Grape Vine, Soothing Slate, Laven-Dear, Crystal Blue, Sun-Tastic, Meteorite, and Lava Rocks.

Sally Hansen has also launched two non-color products in this new collection: its first plant-based, vegan versions of the brand's Hardener, made to improve the look of ridges and protect against breakage, and Top Coat, which creates a protective, glossy seal over your color.

"Good-for-you products are becoming increasingly more important to consumers across all categories — and fulfilling consumers’ desires has always been at the core of Sally Hansen’s innovation," Celia Tombalakian, vice president of Sally Hansen Global & US Marketing, said in a press release. "We are thrilled to introduce Good. Kind. Pure., our first vegan, plant-based line of color and care that enables consumers to create a beautiful, clean manicure at home."

The Sally Hansen Good. Kind. Pure. collection is now available for about $7 each at Target and target.com.
