Salehe Bembury Teases His New Crocs Sneaker

Salehe Bembury‘s Crocs Pollex line was named Footwear News’ Collection of the Year, and the assortment is about to grow with the addition of a new silhouette.

Bembury took to his Instagram over the weekend to reveal an unnamed sneaker that marks a serious departure from Crocs’ typical construction. While maintaining his signature fingerprint motif for the sole unit, the shoe’s upper is fully shrouded and made of materials deviating from the foam Crocs is known for.

A finally textured material, possibly suede, makes up the majority of the upper and is topped by a collar that looks to provide a sock-like fit. For the debut color scheme, peach is mixed with accenting shades of grey and two-tone green sole unit.

Bembury had previously teased the shoe in a close-up and behind a translucent box through his Instagram stories, but his latest image gives the best look yet at the next step for the Pollex line.

The Pollex line has already grown in 2023, with his smash hit Pollex Clog succeeded by a Pollex Slide. The latter essentially chops the top off the former, making it a natural diffusion model of sorts.

In April, Crocs made its relationship with Bembury more formal by naming him the creative director of the Pollex collection. “For many years, collaborations and product partnerships have been at the core of our brand strategy, and we are very proud of what we have been able to create in partnership with Salehe,” Crocs Brand president Michelle Poole said then in a statement. “His unique approach to design has brought a fresh perspective to our molded form and enabled us to connect with new consumers.”
