What Are Safeway’s Christmas Hours?
While it feels like it was just yesterday that we were picking up all those last-minute ingredients for our Thanksgiving stuffing or mashed potatoes, it’s time for another big grocery-shopping trip. It’s Christmastime, and that means we’re preparing for the next holiday feast. Of course, as it’s a major holiday, a lot of our go-to stores may be closed or have modified hours just when we most need them. Which begs the following question: Is Safeway open on Christmas?
The answer is actually a little bit complicated. Some Safeway locations will be open on Christmas Day, while others may be closed or have modified hours. So, you’ll probably want to call ahead to see if your store happens to be open and and what their hours are in honor of the holiday.
Safeway, which is actually part of the Albertsons family of stores, is celebrating Christmas in a way we can all appreciate. The chain is in fact offering 12 Days of Savings in the days leading up to Christmas, including Christmas Day. This means that Safeway locations that are open on Christmas will be offering deals that include sales such as bagged avocados on sale for under $2 with a digital coupon from the store’s app. That’ll come in handy a few days later for some New Year’s Eve party guacamole!
As Safeway locations also have pharmacies, you’ll want to check ahead to see if the pharmacy is open or closed — even if the store may be open that day. Select pharmacies will be closed or have adjusted hours on Christmas, so it’s a good idea to check with your local store before visiting — especially if you happen to be in a cold or snowy area!
