Exclusive: All the Ways Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson Personalized Her Wedding to Christian Huff
Sadie Robertson is officially a Huff. The Duck Dynasty personality, who previously competed on Dancing With the Stars, married Christian Huff on her family farm in Louisiana on Monday, November 25. Six hundred loved ones witnessed the sweet affair which involved not only their family members, but longtime friends and mentors to the pair.
Prior to the nuptials, Robertson caught up with The Knot to reveal all the details leading up to her wedding day. “I think for us, it’s family,” she says. “There’s a lot of people, but it’s going to be very intimate. We’re so thankful that all of our people are going to be there. It’s going to be a celebration for them and for us.”

They Married on a Tennis Court
The couple’s wedding ceremony took place on a tennis court decorated with a sea of Christmas lights. “We’re transforming the tennis court—we love to both play—and we knew it’s good weather this time of year,” she adds. “We’re putting lights up. We’re getting married right when it gets dark and the Christmas lights turn on when everyone is on it. Christian will walk out with the pastor and the bridesmaids and all the things.”

Robertson Wore Two Gowns—One Was Unexpected
Robertson wore two gowns on her wedding day. The first was a piece she selected on whim during a trip to Kleinfeld in New York City. “My future mother-in-law is the sweetest lady. She loves to shop and told me to go to Kleinfeld,” she recalls. “It was a day’s notice. Somehow we were able to get in. So I go, I look at their website. They had one dress from a long time ago, and I get there, I tried on 10 dresses. Mom and I were like, they’re beautiful, but it wasn’t the one.’”
Then she tried on that dress she had noticed on the website: a strapless, crepe white piece by Rita Vinieris featuring a bow and a long train. “I put it on and my mom and I are not emotional people, but we both start crying,” she recalls. “We were like, ‘This is the one.’ I ended up buying the dress on the spot.”

Their Faith Was Front and Center
Pastor Louie Giglio, a mentor and longtime friend, officiated the ceremony. The wedding weekend kicked off with a big worship service for their guests. “One of our favorite bands is Hillsong Worship,” she says of the mega church’s musical group. “We got a lot of their songs, so a lot is playing on our wedding day are worship song. The people know they’re singing it the day before, so it’ll be special.”
Music played an all-important role in the couple’s wedding with artist Tauren Wells performing “Known” for the first dance. The dance floor was packed throughout the night with the couple’s Atlanta-based band Big Bling and the Funk Machine churning out hits for guests.
Guests included Robertson’s DWTS castmate Alfonso Ribeiro and Candace Cameron Bure, beloved for her role as DJ Tanner on Full House and Fuller House. Of course, the Robertson family featured on Duck Dynasty attended the nuptials and partook in various aspects of the day.

They Took Communion for Their Unity Candle Lighting
Instead of a typical unity candle lighting ceremony, the couple opted for another form of “union.” Robertson explains, “We’re having a special moment where Christian and I will be taking communion… It’s really powerful.”
They Had Multiple Beverage “Bars”
“We’re not big drinkers, so we were like, what are we going to have?” Robertson says. “We decided to get the drink we like, which is milkshakes. We’re having a milkshake bar at our wedding, a coffee bar, and all of our favorite drinks.”
Lindsay Neely served as the couple wedding coordinator, while the event design was orchestrated by Tish Miller Design. The reception tent and space was decorated by Explore Elements’ Richard Young, whose company is based in New Orleans.

Family Recipes Were Sprinkled Into the Wedding Menu
“We have so many people coming from all over the world, so we wanted people to experience Louisiana culture,” says Robertson, whose family tapped Chef John Folse of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to cook the meal. “I don’t know who’s more excited—the people who are coming or my dad. We have gone through this menu so many times, I cannot even remember what we landed on.”
The menu ended up including a few dishes that have long been beloved in the Robertson household.

Her ‘Somethings’ Were All-In-One
“My family is big on traditions,” says Robertson, who added multiple twists to family traditions. “My grandma made my garter and she actually made it from our baby dresses. She sewed in diamonds and pearls.” The piece ended with it being her Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue. “She tried to capture all of that. My grandmother gave me that,” she adds. “It’s my favorite kind of gift.”
The bride wore Louboutin shoes and changed into a Sherri Hill piece for her reception.
