Sad 15-Year-Old Dog Surrendered to Shelter at the End of His Life Is Breaking Hearts
Showering your pets with love is needed at all stages of their lives, but it's especially true as they get older. Senior pets need extra attention in their golden years as many start experiencing health problems. But unfortunately, there are some people who don't want the extra responsibility.
That's how sweet Jerry ended up in a California-based animal shelter. A volunteer with the shelter, known on TikTok as @maria_marrria, shared a clip about Jerry with hopes that someone will adopt this sweet 15-year-old dog. Grab a tissue for this one.

Ugh, our hearts have shattered into a million pieces seeing Jerry in the kennel. His eyes are full of sadness, confusion, and worry. How this family could surrender him to the animal shelter is beyond us.
"No dog should end their life like this. Please someone help this nugget!" said @lisap0427. Right? A dog's golden years are supposed to be the best. No animal should ever have to feel like they're not wanted during their final years. @jennlil added, "I don't understand how anyone could just surrender their dog that probably doesn't have much time left. We know caring for a senior dog requires a ton of work, but we have to say, the benefits far outweigh the negatives. You can expect senior dogs to be calmer as they've outgrown their energetic younger days. Plus, many older dogs are already housetrained.
