Here’s What Ryan Seacrest Is Doing Instead of Hosting the E! Golden Globes Red Carpet

Tonight’s Golden Globes are gonna be...a little different from other years—and not just thanks to the show being largely virtual. Ryan Seacrest is fully missing in action on the E! red carpet! So, like...where is he?

At home, making guacamole, apparently. Ryan tweeted during the Globes pre-show on Sunday night, literally encouraging people to watch American Idol instead of the awards show, which, lol.

If you’re wondering what’s going on here, it’s not actually that dramatic. Ryan announced that he’d be leaving E!’s red carpet coverage earlier this month, saying, “After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet, I’ve decided to move on to new adventures. I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years.”

Of course, Ryan still has many other hosting gigs, so he’ll be back on your TV screen talking about his line of RYAN SEACREST MEN’S SUITS soon, don’t worry. On top of hosting American Idol, Ryan is on Live With Kelly and Ryan and hosts On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

By the way, E! also issued a note about Ryan’s departure, saying, “E! has long enjoyed our relationship with Ryan over the years especially as cohost of E!’s signature red carpet series. He has been instrumental in giving viewers a front row seat to some of Hollywood’s biggest nights. We are extremely appreciative of his many contributions and he will always be part of the E! family.”

The internet will miss trolling Ryan, but Giuliana Rancic and Karamo Brown are doing an amazing job on tonight’s carpet!
