Throughout his impressive career, Ryan Reynolds has worked alongside some of the funniest actresses in the industry, from Betty White to Tara Reid. But in a recent birthday tribute, the 47-year-old star called this actress one of the funniest people he'd ever worked with: Anna Faris.

In honor of Faris's 47th birthday several weeks back, Reynolds shared a photo of them together, which was taken from the red carpet back in 2016, when Reynolds was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“A tad late...” Reynolds wrote at the beginning of his caption. “One of the funniest people I've ever worked with. Happy birthday, @annafaris.” (For context, Faris’s birthday was on November 29, and Reynolds shared his post a day later.)

The duo’s working relationship goes all the way back to 2005, when they did the dark comedy film Waiting... together. In the movie, Faris and Reynolds’s characters work at a franchise restaurant called Shenaniganz, and we learn that these two have a romantic history.

That same year, the two were linked on screen again when they starred in Just Friends. In this comedy, Reynolds plays a highly-successful record producer and Faris portrays a demanding pop singer who is signed to his label and wants to start a romantic relationship with him.

Despite the fact that it's been nearly twenty years since the two have worked together, Faris had nothing but kind words to say about Reynolds when she spoke at his Hollywood Walk of Fame event. “I have to tell you that acting with Ryan is like playing an incredibly intense game of ping pong,” she said. “When he locks eyes with you during a scene, you know he's going to challenge you in every way, which is thrilling and terrifying and it also makes it a true joy because he is so brilliant and spontaneous and he expects the best out of his costars."
