Ryan Reynolds' Birthday Gift to Wife Blake Lively Is a Series of Instagram Selfies

He never misses an opportunity to troll her.

Blake Lively turned 35 on Thursday, Aug. 25, and her husband Ryan Reynolds, 45, took to Instagram to celebrate the occasion, as he is wont to do.

The Deadpool star shared a carousel of selfies of the duo with a handful of candids of Lively sprinkled in for good measure. 

"Happy Birthday, @blakelively. You're spectacular," Reynolds wrote early on Thursday. "I'm not sure if you were born or invented. Also, thank you for urging me to leave the house every now and again. ❤️"

"😊😊♥️ my guy 🫶," Lively commented in response to the sweet message. Hundreds of birthday wishes poured in from friends and fans, too. 

"He finally posted a decent picture for her birthday," one commenter noted.

"This is actually a lovely tribute. You didn't troll her, or make fun of her or anything. 👏❤️🙌," said another. 

Clearly, they didn't scroll through the full set. The photos ranged from blurry and ill-lit to bright and sweet, but you couldn't really expect the expert troller not to throw at least a few pranky shots into the mix. The seventh slide—in which he appears to have placed several leaves of kale on Lively's face while she was napping—is truly a must-see. 

"I always said lettuce green was her color. She never listened to me. 🥬," Robyn Lively, her half-sister, joked. 

But it's all in good fun, and Lively is sure to get him back sooner or later.

Meanwhile, Lively celebrated by sharing a flawless bikini photo of herself on Instagram.
