Russian Pontoon Bridge Destroyed in Kherson Region

A pontoon bridge built by Russian forces was destroyed in Ukraine’s Kherson Oblast in early September and a permanent bridge next to it had sustained damage, satellite imagery shows.

Before-and-after photos from Planet Labs, a satellite-imagery company, shows the crossings in Darivka, about 10 miles east of the city of Kherson, over the Inhulets River, which is a tributary of the Dnieper.

The photos were taken on July 30 and September 5, Planet Labs said.

On September 5, the Southern Command of Ukraine’s Armed Forces said it had struck “pontoon crossings” near Darivka and the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station. Credit: Planet Labs PBC via Storyful
