Russell Westbrook Took Distressed Clothing to a Hole New Level

It says a lot when a Russell Westbrook outfit is able to capture our attention in 2018. The OKC star's entire mode of dress seems predicated on pushing the limits: he's masqueraded as a photographer in a neon orange vest, gone full Urkel, and customized an Anaheim Ducks jersey so his nickname "The Brodie" was printed on the back. We have an entire gallery that's just wild outfits only Westbrook could wear. Hell, the man's slogan is "Why Not?" But just when you assume you've seen everything from Westbrook, he shows up to the arena in a yellow sweater that pushes the idea of "distressed" clothing to its outermost limits.

There are scattered holes all around the edges of the sweater, but what really caught everyone's attention was the gaping tear just below the center of Westbrook's chest. It was, maybe, a little much even for Westbrook—underboob, Russ?—so he tried to pass the blame onto his son, Noah. "I ripped it when I got in the car," he said. Then he pivoted: "My son, my son ripped it." Kids will do the darndest things, like rip perfectly frayed holes in an already distressed sweater. (Westbrook's son hasn't even turned one yet, but if the story is true, Noah definitely has a future as a designer for Kanye West's very distressed Yeezy line.) It's hard to believe this wasn't all planned, though, considering Westbrook has worn shirts with slashed chests in the past.

To be fair to Westbrook, if I showed up in public with an outfit I wasn't feeling I would also blame it on the first person and/or thing that came into my mind. While we're still waiting to get to the bottom of this very pressing mystery, guys can take gym inspiration from Russ, and get to work shaping those pecs to steal this look when the weather warms up. You know the old saying: underboob bodies are made in the winter, fellas.
