Crocs, possibly the most controversial shoes ever, have gotten a stylish upgrade — so much so that you can buy them for almost $400.

The rubber clog has long been loved by kids for its waterproof material, hated by trendsetters for its aesthetic, and dismissed by podiatrists for lack of support. However, Crocs have somehow made their way into high fashion.

In September, Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane collaborated with the brand, adorning the former boat shoes with colorful, sparkly gemstones. During his spring 2017 collection, which debuted during London Fashion Week, models walked the runway in the bejeweled and fur-lined upgrades — and did we mention they’re now on sale for $375 a pair?

Interestingly, the new Crocs went on sale one day after the company announced plans to close 158 stores due to a decline in revenue.

What justifies the dramatic price increase from the $35 classic version? Ask fans of the footwear who have recently taken to Twitter to praise the shoe.

Kane himself has been forced to defend his style choice, telling WWD, “Crocs are great. I love them. I don’t really care what anyone thinks. I don’t think anyone’s got the right to say right or wrong, unless they’re God; otherwise, just shut up.”

Hey, if Tevas and Birkenstocks had a second life, who are we to judge?
