I began running in middle school. I was a shy girl who didn’t have many friends, lacked confidence, and was afraid to be myself. Once I discovered running, it completely changed my life. My identity as a runner gave me confidence that helped me push past anxiety and stress. I recently spent an entire year without running due to injury. It left me feeling lost in so many ways, but it also taught me I was still a runner even lacking the mileage. Today I am grateful for every run I get to go on and I have a whole new outlook when it comes to training. Whether it’s a good or bad day I am grateful for the chance to get out there and do what I love.

I love to stay up to date with all things running, and RW+ helps me do just that!

I used to run in order to prove I was good enough for others. Now, I run for myself because I love it and I want to take care of my body. I love the feeling of finishing a long run dead tired or making it to the top of a huge hill and looking over the valley below.

The scenery is a given but it’s a place where I truly disconnect and I feel like it is just me, my running shoes, and the beautiful world of nature.

New Balance 860 shoes! I also go everywhere with 6 foam rollers: Roll Recovery R8, R3, The Stick Roller, TriggerPoint roller, and two types of travel rollers!

And now, it’s to qualify for all the major marathons! Nothing beats a Saturday long run!

As crazy it sounds, I plan my schedule around my runs so I make sure to get them in! I love knocking them out in the morning with a strength session in the afternoon-but I do whatever it takes to make it happen!
