Originally it helped me lose weight, but then it stuck. It became an identity. An identity to be proud of and brag about. Something I never thought I’d be able to do. It also allows me to drink more beer.

For ideas, tips, hints. But it also felt like part of a community.

—A thirst never quite quenched. No matter how fast or far I run, I could have gone a little harder. There’s always someone a little better than you. But the next progression is never so far out there that it feels unattainable. It helps me feel like a part of a community and gives me identity. Also...beer.

A flat, paved route that connects various cities north of Seattle. Scenery is good. Lots of other runners to identify with. I like how it connects to multiple cities. It’s rewarding to say I ran to Redmond, WA and back versus just the miles.

A sub 4 hour marathon.
