Running has I enhanced my life immeasurably physically, mentally and socially. It has taught me that we are capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for.

It’s a great resource and one-stop shop for all things running. I love reading the personal stories and triumphs as well as the many tips and advice for improving as a runner.

Running just feels really good. But there are so many reasons I run. To take care of myself both physically and mentally. My father passed away from Alzheimer’s and my mother is currently suffering from dementia. I want to improve my odds and live each day to the fullest while I am on this earth. I also get to spend great time with my son, friends and the awesome people in my running clubs (Varsity Sports and Happy’s Running Club).

I’m fortunate to live in Baton Rouge where we have a wonderful route around the LSU and City Park Lakes. Much of the route is draped in moss covered Live Oaks with beautiful homes along the way. Running through the LSU campus the morning of game day never gets old. You definitely feel the vibe and energy of all the fans already tailgating. The smell of jambalaya cooking and cold beer at 7:30 AM is always inspiring.

My purple and gold Varsity Sports Running Club singlet. I wore it on my Saturday Morning run every game day this past fall and LSU went 15-0 and won the National Championship. Yes, I guess I am a bit superstitious. Also, a close second would be my blue Louisiana Varsity Sports singlet I wore in my first Boston Marathon. I’m proud to be from Louisiana and represent my running club at the world’s best marathon.

My kids tell me I can do a pretty good Cajun accent. And No, we do not have Cajun accents in Baton Rouge.
