Running has changed me in so many ways. It has taught me to be mentally strong where in my professional life, a strong mind and confidence is crucial. Running has also taught me to be kinder to myself. I’m my worst critic at times both in work and personal life but I’ve found that when I’m kinder to myself with a little less pressure and some added in fun, I will always perform so much better. Running has made me appreciate myself for who I am and I’m continuing to learn what I’m truly capable of physically and mentally

I love reading about the running community, new products, and any running advice I can get my hands on!

I know that if I get my run in the morning, my day will almost always start off in a positive direction. I know my mental game will be “on” and I’ll have some great energy to kick start the day. I know if I don’t make it happen first thing, I’ll have the run in the back of my mind for the entire day.

I usually run first thing in the morning, especially for long runs. Sometimes if I’m working from home, I’ll switch it up to a run during lunch to break up the day. I love my town, Emmaus. We have such a cool running community here. I have a typical route that works down Main Street and through some of the other main roads in town. I’ve also started running in town with my six-year-old daughter. We just ran her first 10k together–the memories running through town will always stay with me. There are some hills by the Wildlands Conservancy that are brutal, but are great for hill repeats. I also love running the Ironton Rail Trail in Whitehall, PA. I did most of my long training runs for the Chicago marathon there this summer and the miles never grew old. It’s beautiful.

Hands down one of my favorite pieces of gear is my pink Saucony jacket that I wear in the rain. I’ve had it for years and I travel with it to every race “just in case.” It’s the perfect jacket to wear when it’s cool/cold in the rain. It has great ventilation in the back so that you don’t over heat.

To stay healthy enough to keep running for another 30+ years.
