Sport has always been a core part of my life. I was lucky enough to play international field hockey for Great Britain, competing in 3 Olympic Games and winning Gold in 1988 and 1992. Running was a key part of my training regime. I rediscovered my love of running in 2016 when I ran Boston. Running provides me with both a focus and an escape. A focus to get fit and challenge myself once again. I now compliment my running with yoga, CrossFit, weights, swimming and diet. Running is also my escape. It’s the time I do my best thinking and reconnect with my own body, my own thoughts and the outside world.

I enjoy being part of the running community and I have so much to learn from other runners. RW+ is a great source of knowledge and inspiration.

I have always run, ever since I was a small kid. Now it’s become part of my identity (I’m a runner), a core pillar of my fitness regime and a wonderful way to see the world.

I’m a morning runner. It really sets my day up correctly (that and a coffee).

As I travel a lot, I don’t have a set running route. Currently I’m spending a lot of time in Jarnac, in the cognac region of France. This month I discovered a beautiful 10k run along the banks of La Charente, through vineyards and beautiful rural French villages. It’s gorgeous and has the added advantage of starting and finishing at the Courvoisier Maison.

I travel light and the first thing I pack are my white On Cloud X Shoes. I love the versatility of this shoe and I feel comfortable running in them, doing weights or dropping into a CrossFit box.

Complete the Majors. 5 down, just Tokyo to go. Run a marathon on the 7 Continents. Keep myself fit enough that I can continue to run for many more years.
