Running gives me a period of pure happiness every day.

To keep things more interesting. I like learning about new or interesting races, ways to stay healthy, and sometimes the food and gadgets.

I run because it allows me to feel fit for the rest of the day. I run because I can connect with music and my breathing.

Last year I moved to Brooklyn near the East River so now I mostly run between Willamsburg, Greenpoint, and Long Island City. I love the run along the water but I also enjoy running on the wide, quiet streets slightly inland. I still enjoy treadmill running and am awaiting my gym to reopen as the pandemic gets better in New York.

I bought a Garmin 245 music last year. It is awesome! The stats are great and I love to check out the maps of where I’ve been afterwards. I still use wired headphones for music because I have not found wireless earphones that are not cumbersome and also have a great sound. Also, starting many years ago, I only run with New Balance 880’s. They are my absolute favorites.

I stopped running for over 15 years due to a knee injury that was caused by tight leg muscles and a childhood history of Osgood Schlotter’s on my knee. It wasn’t until I did a ton of research into what stretches were best and then found an amazing physical therapist that I was gradually able to run again. Thank you Stroma Physical Therapy! Now it has been two years and I can run as much as I want.

This year I had my first out-of-state half marathon planned in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the virus pandemic. I’m really hoping to get there next year. My goal is to pick a few new out-of-state half marathons each year and run them!
