I’ve been running, off and on (mostly off), since I turned 20 and running has helped me to become more focused, more faith-filled, patient, accepting of failure and accomplishment.

I have been reading Runner’s World since 1980...joining RW+ was a no brainer. I enjoy nearly all aspects of this great big virtual world.

Jacques Maritain wrote that every morning God lays before you a bouquet of roses and you can stomp on them or take them to your bosom. Running has helped me to accept every morning’s gift with joy and wild abandonment.

While not my favorite route, which would be the week I spent running amongst the giant Sequoias in Sequoia National Park, my running spot is the San Gabriel River Trail which is just across the street from my home. I have trudged through the hottest and coldest of days, and have seen the beauty of the flora and fauna of river life on this very simple trail.

Right now it’s the Hoka Bondi and Aftershokz headphones...I love those two to hell and back. Oh! And I found these ninja headbands that soak up nearly all the sweat that pours from my noggin.

In 1984 I was offered $75 for some of my chest hair by a practically hairless guy whose girlfriend loved hairy men. I agreed. I recognized the guy (actor Robert Morse) and figured it was for some TV skit. The show was called called Anything for Money.

To run for as long as I am able...pain free.
