I’ve met my closest friends while running Ragnars. Now we do Ragnars and other races together, run as a group once a week and are close friends! I changed so many bad habits all in the desire to be a better runner: gave up smoking, cut back on drinking (gotta have that post-race beer!), lost 60 pounds. I also actively strength train to help running and of course look better. I was able to get off blood pressure and anxiety medication all thanks to running!

I joined RW+ because I love having access to the online articles, but there have been so many other perks I discovered since joining—the biggest: a video conference with Coach Jess. Through that and the community page I’ve become “online buddies” with Coach Jess. We follow and encourage each other on social media!

I run to feel alive. I know I will feel so much better (amazing) when I’m done. I can work through things in my head and solve problems while running. It keeps me sane! I run first thing in the a.m. I used to run on my lunch break but I love starting the day with a run. I am able to use my lunch to strength train now!

I run in Apple Country near my home in Peru, NY. It’s at the foothills of the Adirondacks so it’s a mix of woods, farmer’s fields and apple orchards with the Adirondacks as a back splash. It’s beautiful. I run the first 2.5 of my route with the dog, through my neighborhood which is very wooded and hilly. The hills and him stopping to pee numerous times makes it a challenge.

I’m obsessed with my Brooks Ghost 11s! They are best looking and most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever owned. I have two pairs

My goal is to run a marathon in the spring. I’ve done about 10 half marathons and many Ragnars, 5Ks and 10Ks. I’m ready for the holy grail!
