Running taught me that I am capable of much more than I think I am. I used to doubt my abilities to even finish a mile, but now I’m training for my first half marathon. Running made me love pushing my limits and trying new things.

I joined RW+ mostly for the training guides. I was trying to get my 5k time down but didn’t know how, so I decided to sign up and use the RW+ running plan (and loved it).

I started running just to get back in shape and lose some weight. But after completing a 5k I fell in love with the sense of accomplishment I get when I finish a race. Now I run to prove that I’m capable of more than I thought I was. If I’m ever lacking motivation, I remember how much progress I’ve made and how I have reached every goal I’ve set so far.

I run a lot on the Montour Trail (Pittsburgh area). When I first moved to the area, someone mentioned they liked to walk there so I decided to give it a try for a run. I instantly fell in love with the trail. It’s a gorgeous trail that gets a lot of foot traffic, so I always feel safe. I usually have the same start point so I have a mental map of the mile markers which helps me to push myself. There’s also a ton of wildlife if you get there early enough, which is always fun.

My Brooks Revel trainers are my all time favorite shoes. Partially because they’re comfortable and I’ve never had issues with them, but they also have sentimental value. I took a break from running after college and they were my first shoes when I got back into it. I wore them through so many 5ks with friends along with my first tough mudder. I got a new pair for Christmas and plan to wear them for my first half marathon.

I’m a proud dog mom to the worlds cutest Shiba Inu (doge), Bruce. We named him after Batman.

My goals are constantly changing. At the moment, my goal is to finish my first half marathon. But eventually I’d like to run a full and I’ve also been trying to convince friends to do a Ragnar relay race with me.
