I began running about three years ago to stay in shape but ended up loving it more and more because of the amazing people I’ve met and the sense of accomplishment every time I finish a run. Running has also given me a bigger purpose especially during this year of racial unrest. I use running and movement as my protest and to take up space in an industry that doesn’t have a lot of people that look like me. Running has been with me during my toughest times and happiest times. Whenever I am sad, angry, or even happy, I go for a run to reset and recharge. Running has taught me so much about myself and has truly aligned with my personal growth. I know I am capable of meeting goals and overcoming the tough miles of life!

I joined RW+ to gain more education and understanding of certain topics in running. It’s always great to relate to people who are going through the same thing you’re going through. Whether it’s preparing for a first marathon or what gear is best for the cold, I love to take in as much information as I can.

My initial motivation to run was to get better and faster but now it’s to inspire people to be a better version of themselves every day. I know a lot of people who’ve never met someone who’s ran a marathon and they tell me how much that inspires them to try something new or to take care of their physical health. If my running can change a person, then I will never stop.

I love to run at my local park, Baisley Pond Park in Jamaica, Queens. I feel a sense of comfort and pride whenever I run there. It’s home for me and I am very proud to have such a beautiful park as a part of my community. It’s a hidden gem to most runners in NYC but has a rich history that I hope people will learn more about.

My SPIbelt was a game changer for me because I like to run with my phone for music. I honestly don’t feel it while I’m running. And my Apple AirPods for the tunes!

I hate milk but love to eat cereal. And yes, it does have milk.

To remain healthy and run all the six world marathon majors.
