Running has helped me realize the impossible IS possible. It has taken me to places I never thought I’d go and I’ve made friends around the world I’d never have met. It’s given my husband and I a shared passion and keeps us healthy. Is has given us a way to give back and help inspire others to reach for their goals.

Even though I’ve been a runner for many years, I want to learn and grow in my knowledge. RW provides great info, current research, workout ideas, and gear reviews. If you are a runner, RW should be part of your “gear” bag.

Even on days when I may not feel like going for a run, I know that if I do, I will ALWAYS feel better when I’m done. Whether it’s from the physical exercise, the sense of accomplishment, or knowing I’m doing something healthy and beneficial for my body. Running never lets me down. And I know that I will always feel better and run better when I’m running consistently. If I take a break for whatever reason (illness, injury), returning to running is the hardest part. I’m always happier when I’m running consistently, even if it’s a short distance.

My favorite place to run is the Garden Of The Gods Park in Colorado Springs. I used to live close by so I was able to run in this magical place every day with my dogs. Now I run it yearly during the 10 mile race. It’s a hilly course with amazing red rocks. It’s always a challenge and the miles fly by when I’m looking around at the beauty of nature.

I’m a morning person so I love waking up, fueling, and heading out the door. Sometimes that’s to watch an amazing sunrise, other times it’s to see wild animals when it’s still quiet. I love trail runs so try to avoid the hustle and bustle of the streets. This gives me the calm and serenity I appreciate about the sport. It’s MY time to think what I want, or not, and just focus on me.

I love to run in a full length type of sports bra. Not just a sports bra, but it has material down to your waist. They seem to be harder to find these days, but they are my go to gear on top. It allows me to be covered and not have to wear a shirt, which I feel is restrictive unless it’s cold and needed.

Complete my 20th marathon in 2020.
