Running has provided an escape that I never knew I needed. In the game of life I’ve been blessed with a pretty good hand (*knocks on wood*) but running has given me an outlet to vent, to let go, to flourish, to hurt, to thrive. It’s allowed me a way to reset no matter the day I’ve had.

For the amazing articles, tips, feedback, and community!

Honestly, the post-run feeling is what motivates me to run. That feeling of accomplishment after a long run, or finishing a race, or pushing through after a tough day. It can alter your mood instantly! It makes me feel so accomplished knowing that I did it—I pushed myself to finish, I chose to not give up, and even if it wasn’t the outcome I wanted I am stronger because of it. I have never gone out for a run and finished thinking “man I wish I stayed in today.” Even if it was a struggle to get going, I always finish saying, “man I’m happy I did that.”

I’m a road runner; the streets where I live are typically not conducive for running but I run them anyway. There are basically no flat routes, and every direction you run you’re guaranteed at least one big hill. But when I need a break from the normal routine, I need to remember why I love running, or I just need a pick me up, I head to a trail about 30 minutes away. It hugs the Hudson River and has beautiful views of the Tappan Zee Bridge. I really don’t know why I feel so at peace and connected there, but I do!

I love to wear any type of finishers shirt when I run! When I hit a tough point in a run I’m able to look down and remind myself I’ve pushed through before and can push through again.

I love ice cream. Like actually love it. I used to eat a pint a night (not my proudest accomplishment). I can be convinced to do most things with an ice cream bribe! I also currently have a 410 day run streak going! And I like to document my marathons while I run them on insta!

My two long terms goals are to qualify for Boston and run all the Abbott majors ( 2 down)!
