If cereal and milk were your jam as a kid, then you’re in luck, as Pillsbury has just released brand-new breakfast cereal-inspired frozen waffles that’ll take you straight back to childhood. Available at Walmart and costing $3.73 for an eight-pack, they come in three delicious, nostalgic cereal classics, including Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Trix. And this new launch is making waves across social media.

An Instagram user, with the handle @junkpickers, posted a photo of Cocoa Puffs Waffles from Pillsbury during a recent shopping trip to Walmart. That was followed by a TikTok video featuring Trix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavors in store, with a caption that said, “YUM! I spotted these new Pillsbury waffles and I’m so excited to try! Pick from Trix or Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Will you be trying?!” sparking interest among users. Yet another customer posted a YouTube video that showed all three options available in-store. It's safe to say we're trying these ASAP.

What Customers Have to Say About Pillsbury’s New Breakfast Cereal Waffles

There are reviews online from Walmart customers, sharing what they love about these three new kid-friendly breakfast treats and offering tips and suggestions for how to eat them. One review that particularly stands out is from YouTube user wildjlove who posted a video trying all the new flavors at home, toasted, from frozen to golden.

Based on the review, the waffles (all three of them) didn’t disappoint one bit in flavor and taste. For starters, there’s a wonderful and potent aroma prior to toasting and heating. The user noticed that familiar, glorious smell of sweet fruity cereal nostalgia and chocolatey goodness instantly after opening the box of both Trix and Cocoa Puffs flavored waffles. (Cinnamon Toast Crunch didn’t have as strong an effect as the others.)

Apparently, the citrus flavor in the Trix is pretty strong—in a good way, though—so it’s probably best to enjoy it with butter, whipped cream, and fruit instead of maple syrup. Cinnamon Toast Crunch is more versatile for add-ons that are sweet or savory, including butter and maple syrup. The user suggested drizzling Cinnabon Pancake Syrup for “cinna-craziness.” The Cocoa Puffs Waffles were a clear winner for versatility, and a few suggestions for how to eat them included making “an ice cream sandwich using Cocoa Puffs Waffles,” and “some sort of Nutella waffle dessert or breakfast.” Another idea? Put a little “strawberry compote on top of the Cocoa Puff Waffles,” the user said. Now it’s just a matter of which recommendation to try first.
