Traveling did not go as expected for Rumer Willis this weekend. She spent hours at the airport waiting for a flight with her 11-month-old daughter Louetta “Lou” Isley, who she shares with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas. But if one good thing came from it, she learned how strong she is as mom!

“We missed our flight this morning 🙈,” the Sorority Row star wrote on her Instagram story on Sunday. Hey, I get it! Flying is stressful, especially with a baby in tow. But because they missed the flight, they had to just sit and wait for the next one. “So now we have to entertain ourselves for the next 3 ½ hours wish us luck #firsttimemommishaps.” The text was written over a selfie video from the airport, where Lou was looking over her mom’s shoulder just babbling away. Willis playfully bites her daughter to tickle her, and Lou giggles adorably. She clearly doesn’t care about the delay!

Later, the model gave another update: “I managed to get her down bless the baby nap gods,” she wrote. Willis also showed off her “mom bangs,” AKA, the baby hairs growing back in after postpartum hair loss. It’s always something!

With Lou sleeping on her mama’s chest, Willis decided to host an “AMA” or “Ask Me Anything” on Instagram. One person asked how she was feeling in general.

“Tired, happy, more capable than I thought,” Willis answered. “I am learning and growing so much right now. I feel so cracked open and grateful and also feel overwhelmed at times and challenged but the thing I feel more than anything is love.”

She added, “Lou is the most amazing being so full of joy and love and surprises me every day.”

Someone else asked how she finds peace, and the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress answered, “Learning to pause, slow down, don’t run from my emotions give myself the full expression and then try to let go.”

She shared other tidbits, including the fact that she “absolutely” wants more kids, and she wishes she “was pregnant right now.”

In another travel woe, Willis revealed that their “flight was delayed 50 mins making this a 11 hour travel day which was supposed to be an 1hr ish flight.” Yikes! That would be seriously draining for anyone.

“But my partner in crime little Lou is handling it like and champ and what today has taught me is I am so much more capable than I thought,” Willis continued. She added, “And I always leave an extra half an hour for travel days once you have a child.” Or longer! No shame in that.

“I just want to go on record saying that no matter how challenging a day is, even this, being able to be a mother is truly, like, one of the most incredible things,” Willis says in another video. “And there isn’t anything about this day, and having her, and missing my flight because I was changing a diaper. Whatever it was, there’s no bad or challenges about being a mom that outweighs the good.”

She encourages moms to think of motherhood like “a short chapter of your life.”

“Pause, slow down, enjoy it,” she continues. “And do your best to eliminate the word ‘hard’ from your vocabulary, especially when it comes to mothering.”

When they finally made it on their flight, Willis shared an adorable picture of Lou looking out the plane window and pointing with her little finger. Having kids certainly does bring everything into perspective!

These celebrity moms got painfully honest about their breastfeeding journeys.
