  • In town for a concert, music star Ed Sheeran secretly stopped by a local high school band practice.

  • Sheeran revealed to the class that he was gifting them new guitars, and tickets to his next concert.

  • He also performed for the kids, and took selfies with them.

For most of us, the only time a famous musician spoke to us in our high school music class is if we got a little too lit under the bleachers beforehand and that laminated picture of Mozart on the wall started telling us the meaning of life.

But for one Florida high school, a megastar musician did appear in their classroom bearing advice and gifts, and no "Bad Habits" were required to see him there.

You might not know this, but Game of Thrones and Yesterday actor Ed Sheeran is also somewhat famous as a musician. He's even had a couple of hits on the radio, and is currently on tour. (Will this whole music thing work out for the young actor? Or will it be another Return of Bruno? Who can say?)

And while Sheeran was in town in Tampa, Florida for a show, he decided to pay one high school a special visit.

Sheeran crashed the band practice of Middleton High School, but to their credit, the students were so caught up in their playing that they didn't notice him at first.

Once Sheeran had his reveal, he kindly informed the class that he wasn't arriving empty handed. "I've also brought some guitars to give to you guys and the music department," Sheeran said to the students, "...and I'm playing a sold-out stadium tomorrow, but I've got tickets for all of you guys to come."

Sheeran then treated the students to an intimate performance of his 2017 song "Perfect," then stuck around for a round of selfies and autograph signings. The students all seemed ecstatic at the appearance, with one even tearing up during his musical performance.
