The 33-year-old Australian actress, who was cast to play Batwoman in CW’s upcoming series, took to Instagram on Thursday to share the update with her 14.2 million followers. She also posted a video of the entire procedure, which she says was inspired by Grey’s Anatomy – and it’s not for the faint of heart.
“Well that was fun,” she said about the surgery that left her with a “Pez dispenser scar” on her neck. “I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed... I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord.”
Rose also wrote about the chronic pain that she was suffering while simultaneously losing feeling in her arms. She then expressed her gratitude to the doctor who performed the surgery.
“Thank you Dr Bray for everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love. I am forever in your debt,” Rose wrote.
People flooded the comments with support for the star, who seemingly gave herself time to recover from the procedure.
“This is the most hilarious caption for a truly horrible situation. You’re such a trooper and an inspiration,” one person wrote.
Another said, “Glad you came out on top.”
