They royals have paid tribute to Prince Philip in an emotional new video. While the Queen did not participate, Philip's children—Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, and Prince Andrew—sat down with the BBC to reflect on their father's life.

Prince Charles explained that Prince Philip's "energy was astonishing in supporting my mama, and doing it for such a long time" adding "I think he'll probably want to be remembered as an individual in his own right."

Meanwhile, a clearly emotional Princess Anne said "I think I will best remember him as always being there and a person you could bounce off ideas, but if you were having problems you could always go to him."

Buckingham Palace announced the Duke of Edinburg's death on Friday, April 9, saying he passed away at home in Windsor Palace.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss. Further announcements will be made in due course.”

Philip's funeral is in the process of being arranged (previously made plans might be changed due to the coronavirus pandemic), and is expected to be private. Prince Harry, who currently lives in California with Meghan Markle and their son Archie, is said to be flying to the UK for the service, with a source telling Daily Mail, "Harry will absolutely do his utmost to get back to the UK and be with his family. He will want nothing more than to be there for his family, and particularly his grandmother, during this awful time. Meghan is obviously pregnant so she will need to take advice from her doctors about whether it is safe for her to travel, but I think Harry will definitely go."
