There was a small royal family reunion last night and there’s a brand-new portrait to prove it.

Yesterday evening, King Charles and and Queen Consort Camilla hosted a reception dinner to celebrate the sporting athletes who won the gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2020 Tokyo and 2022 Beijing Winter Games.

And other royal family members decided to join in on the party: Prince Edward (the Earl of Wessex), Princess Anne (the Princess Royal and Charles’s sister) and Prince Richard (the Duke of Gloucester) were also in attendance and showed their support for the winners.

The royals posed for a portrait together and appeared to be all smiles in a slideshow (seen below) later posted to the royal family’s Instagram page. Other pictures showed the king chatting with some of the medal award winners.

“From boxing to athletics, across Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022, British Olympic and Paralympic athletes won almost 200 medals,” the caption read. “Great to welcome so many of you!”

This is only the latest portrait the royal family has released. Just last month, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released an exclusive portrait where they were seen attending the One Young World summit in Manchester.

In the photograph (captured by Misan Harriman), the Duchess of Sussex looked absolutely stunning in a powerful red ensemble while Harry was quite dapper in an all-black suit and tie (and we didn’t miss the subtle hand-holding).

Last night was truly a family affair.
