Prince William turns 41 today!

The Prince of Wales, whose full name William Arthur Philip Louis, was born on June 21, 1982—making him a Cancer, if you were wondering. He made his debut to the world on June 22, 1982, when his parents Princess Diana and then-Prince Charles stood outside the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital.

To mark his birthday, the British royal family's social media account shared a behind-the-scenes snap from coronation rehearsals, showing King Charles smiling at his son. "Wishing The Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today!" they wrote, adding a balloon emoji.

In addition, Westminster Abbey rang its bells to celebrate Prince William's birthday. Before 2020, the Abbey bells rang for the birthdays of numerous royals: Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, their four children then-Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, along with Prince William, Kate, and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Beginning in 2022, Westminster Abbey announced the birthday bells will only ring for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. "The Abbey bells can be heard ringing out before services and in celebration of church festivals. The bells have also traditionally been rung to mark the birthdays of senior members of the Royal Family," a spokesperson for Westminster Abbey said. "Due to the financial challenges posed to the Abbey by the Covid-19 pandemic, and in consultation with Buckingham Palace, the bells will now ring only for the birthdays of HM The Queen and HRH The Prince of Wales."

Now, it seems like that applies to just King Charles and his heir, Prince William. "Wishing HRH The Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today!" the Abbey tweeted, with a video of the bells ringing.

The Prince and Princess of Wales's social media has yet to post for William's birthday.
