Royal Family Members Will Visit Jubilee Celebrations Throughout the U.K.

Members of the royal family will visit capitals throughout the United Kingdom to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.
Buckingham Palace has announced plans for royal visits to the nations of the United Kingdom during the special holiday weekend. Several members, including Prince William and Duchess Kate, will meet with members of the local communities celebrating the monarch's 70 years of public service.
On Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit Cardiff Castle in Wales to meet performers and crew members ahead of the city's special Platinum Jubilee Celebration Concert. The pair will view the event rehearsals and also lend a hand on some of the final preparations for the show, which will feature some of Wales' most famous musicians and entertainers.
Princess Anne will arrive in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Friday, accompanied by her husband Sir Timothy Laurence. Following a visit to the Edinburgh Zoo, where she will take part in an animal handling session alongside local children, the princess will visit the Royal Navy ship HMS Albion and meet representatives of royal patronages across Scotland.
Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex will travel to Northern Ireland as members of the public celebrate the queen and their local communities' history over the past 70 years. They will meet children taking part in multicultural street performances.
The visits will take place in the days following the traditional balcony appearance at Trooping the Colour on Thursday. Earlier this month, a palace spokesperson told BAZAAR.com that the appearance will be limited to the monarch and working members of the royal family and their children.
Non-working members, including Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, have several engagements they can join, including the National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul's Cathedral on June 3, which will pay tribute to the queen's reign.
