How the Royal Family Honored Meghan Markle on Her Birthday

On Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex celebrated her 38th birthday,, her first as a mother. Across social media, other members of the royal family publicly shared their well-wishes.

The first was Prince Harry himself. On their joint Instagram account, he posted a picture of Meghan, taken during their tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand. It was accompanied by a personal caption: “Happy Birthday to my amazing wife. Thank you for joining me on this adventure! Love, H.”

The Cambridges also chimed in. They shared a picture of Prince Charles, Prince William, Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry all walking to church on Christmas Day. “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today,” they said, punctuating the caption with a festive balloon emoji.

Clarence House posted a slideshow. The first picture was a close up of the Duchess’s smiling face, while a second showed her laughing with Prince Charles. The last was of Meghan and the Duchess of Cornwall, which was taken at the Duchess of Sussex’s first appearance after her wedding.

Last but not least was Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who shared a picture of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their recent appearance at a Yankees/Red Sox game in London. “Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Sussex,” they said. “The Duchess was born on this day in 1981.”

And what did Markle do on her special day? The Sun reports she enjoyed a low-key day at Frogmore Cottage, whereas other outlets suggested she may be celebrating at Balmoral—and that the Queen might throw her a birthday tea at her Scottish estate.
