Round-Face Pumpkin Stencil

Don't worry if your round-face pumpkin's features turned out a little jagged. There's a tool for that! We use a sharp, triangular-headed clay modeling tool to smooth out the rough bits. Just run the tool along the cut edges, skimming the surface and trimming away imperfections. Discard trimmed pieces and enjoy your new, smooth design!

To carve:

1. Use a serrated pumpkin-carving knife to carve a circle in your pumpkin's underside, and scrape out all the seeds and slimy bits with a scoop. Print out the free stencil, resizing it if necessary, and tape it to your pumpkin.

2. Poke holes along the stencil lines with a large nail, puncturing the paper and the pumpkin's skin. For the most-detailed carving results, keep holes within 1/8" of each other.

3. Tear off the stencil, and carve along the holes with your knife. Use a gentle sawing motion to carve from point to point, and after completely carving the design, press gently on the carved sections to nudge them out.

4. Place a flameless candle inside your pumpkin to illuminate the jack-o'-lantern's happy face.
