Rottweiler’s Sadness Over Not Getting Pets From Stangers Is Heartbreaking

There are certain dog breeds that many people are scared of because they think they're "vicious", like Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers. I've seem people grab their kids when these dogs walk by, while others go out of their ways to avoid coming in contact with them.

Rottweiler Beau is an adorable guy, and his TikTok feed is filled with videos showing how sweet and gentle he is. His eyes are full of love and he has a calm demeanor. His mom shared a video of him on Thursday, February 1st showing him looking sad. The reason? He doesn't get pet by strangers like other dogs do, and he knows it.

Doesn't he look like a good boy? @Beau's mom's caption literally brought tears to my eyes. She said, "I can see how sad and envious he gets when all the good boys and girls around him are getting lots of cuddles. And then people walk straight by him and his wagging tail, as if he’s next. He turns to look at me as if he's done something wrong, and that hurts the most." I'm so sad for him! Commenters empathized with this as well. @Heathens Queen said, "I would ask to give that pupper some lovin'!" Another commenter shared, "My sister's Rottie was a big baby, lol. So is my Staffie mix. Best dogs ever." @Charlie's mama gets it, "He’s really beautiful! My heart used to break for my boy, he just wanted to make friends."

Do Rottweilers Make Good Pets

If you're looking for a protective, fiercely loyal dog, Rottweilers are worth considering. We had one growing up, and like others said, she looked scary but was really a big baby! When I say big I mean big - a full grown female can weigh 100 pounds and males weigh up to 140 pounds.

These dogs are really affectionate with their family, though they may be standoffish around strangers and other animals until they know they are safe. They are very intelligent, and love to learn. They respond well to training. If you get a Rottweiler puppy, it's extremely important to begin training immediately and socialize them as well. They need to know that you are in control, not them. They can be stubborn, especially males, so training may take a bit longer than expected.

They love and require daily exercise. They're easy to groom and don't shed a whole lot. They are also a pretty chill and calm dog, easy going with their families.

As with all dog breeds, there are pros and cons to owning one. Make sure that you do thorough research if you are considering a Rottweiler for your family pet. They may be more work than some other breeds, but the ones I've known have all been big teddy bears at heart.
