Rosie O'Donnell Shows Off Her Annual Christmas Present From Tom Cruise
The comedian absolutely loves the cake from her good friend 'Tommy.'
Tom Cruise sends Rosie O'Donnell the same cake for Christmas every year, and she is so proud to show it off on Instagram!
This year's gift arrived yesterday, with a note addressed to the comedian reading, "Warmest wishes to you this Holiday Season."
"my tommy sent me a coconut cake !! i love that guy ❤️🌹💋 #tomcruise," she wrote alongside a picture of the open box housing a coconut-covered bundt cake. It was accompanied by a sparkly, bounding reindeer ornament.
She shared a similar picture around Christmas in 2020, except that the box was still sealed, wrapped in a big beautiful gold and white bow with a similar reindeer ornament and the same exact note.
"christmas is here when tommy’s gift shows up #holidayseason," she wrote that year.
The two have been friends for 25 years, which O'Donnell once spoke about on SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show. "He is the only person who never misses my birthday. In knowing him for 25 years now, he has never missed my birthday or an event in my life," she said, later adding, "A lot of people say to me, it's just his secretary, but I don't believe that. I think he knows in early March, 'Oh, it's Rosie's birthday coming up,' and he sends me something. Every single year for 25 years."
But it turns out she's not the only one; Cruise sends the same cake with the same note to several of his fellow celebrities every year, including Kirsten Dunst, Jimmy Fallon, Cobie Smulders, Graham Norton, Henry Cavill, and Barbara Walters.
According to Yahoo, the cake, a White Chocolate Coconut Bundt Cake which comes from family-run Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, Calif., has been his go-to gift for over a decade.
The publication spoke with one of the bakery's owners, who shared that they pack up hundreds of cakes for Cruise over the holidays, and more throughout the year. The plain white box is as far as they go, though; it's Cruise's team that packages it up so beautifully and ships them out around the globe.
And while most of his fellow celebs are careful to make sure to stay on his good side, we're wondering how to get on it in the first place!
