Roseanne Barr claims 'Planet of the Apes' tweet was 'about anti-Semitism'
Roseanne Barr, who was forced to quit her eponymous show after a racist and Islamophobic Twitter rant, has now said that her comments were actually about anti-Semitism.
US comedian Barr came under fire when she compared former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett to the lovechild of the "Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes".
Barr's now-deleted tweet read: "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj."
Now the 65-year-old actress has said that her comment about Jarrett actually referred to the Iran nuclear deal.
Rod Serling wrote Planet of The Apes. It was about anti-semitism. That is what my tweet referred to-the anti semitism of the Iran deal. Low IQ ppl can think whatever they want.

She had previously claimed that her tweeting was the result of taking sleep medication.
Barr also used her twitter spree to urge her followers to watch a documentary about the assassinated civil rights activist Malcolm X, and to listen to the music of Kanye West. “My faith is stronger today than ever before. I have faith in the American people to free their minds & unite,” she wrote in another tweet.
It is understood that the ABC network is in talks to create a spin-off of Roseanne that does not feature Barr.
