Nathan Fillion is trying out a new undercover look while production of the next season of his hit police procedural remains on hold.

The Castle alum has been spotted on the picket line of the SAG-AFTRA/WGA strikes, over the last couple of weeks, first debuting his hidden identity on Aug. 24 at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California, in the form of a thick, bushy Magnum P.I.-style mustache.

And, on Sept. 7, he reunited with his Rookie co-stars Eric Winter, Melissa O'Neill, Mekia Cox and Shawn Ashmore as he hit the picket line once again. He posed for several selfies with the group, his glorious 'stache quickly capturing the eye.

The actor re-shared the photos, originally published by O'Neill on Instagram, on his own Story, as seen by Hello!.

It's unclear if the Firefly star grew out his facial hair for an upcoming role or is just trying out something new while his contracts are on hold, but it's certainly something to talk about in the meantime.

Outside of fighting for better contracts for himself and his Hollywood colleagues, he surely has plenty of time to work on a rather unique hobby of his—cobbling. It may be a dying trade, but he's proven himself pretty handy when it comes to reattaching the straps of his broken sandals.

And if the two sides continue to fail to reach an agreement, it may serve him as a source of income in the future. After all, a good shoe-repair service is hard to find these days!
