Ronan Farrow made a cameo on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt—and donated his appearance fee to RAINN

Spoilers ahead for the final episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Ronan Farrow’s next (fictional) target is none other than Mr. Frumpus. The journalist, who has helped take down Hollywood moguls such as Harvey Weinstein and Les Moonves IRL, made a surprise cameo on the final episode of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. In the #MeToo-driven episode, “Kimmy is in a Love Square,” Farrow appears as himself to encourage aspiring actor Titus (Tituss Burgess) to come forward with his experience of sexual harassment by an orange puppet, Mr. Frumpus, during a Sesame Street audition.

Farrow took to social media to explain his cameo, which aired today, January 25th on the streaming giant. He wrote, “I did this because 1) Tina Fey is a magical wonder and we’re all lucky to have her 2) @unbreakablekimmyschmidt is funny as hell but also a smart show about trauma and abuse, and I love them for doing an episode about the importance of sources deciding to speak.”

The War on Peace author also revealed that he donated his appearance fee to RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network. He continued, “Also what a delight to spend time with the great @titusssawthis and @mikecarlsen and read jokes by @mwhitak. I donated my appearance fee to RAINN. Give at www.rainn.org and watch the new season while you’re at it, it’s v. good.”

In the series finale, Farrow successfully convinces Titus to speak about his experience on record. When the two meet on camera, Titus says to Farrow, “Oh my God, you are beautiful! Puppets must be constantly hitting on you!”

The final episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are available to stream on Netflix now.
