According to Mayo Clinic, not all strains of E. coli are life-threatening; however, certain types can cause serious gastrointestinal distress. In very rare cases, this bacterial infection can even lead to death.

The FDA recently posted a warning regarding the recall of romaine lettuce due to potential contamination from deer feces.

These feces can contain various bacteria such as Salmonella, Listeria monocytogenes, Cryptosporidium, Giardia, and other dangerous pathogens.

While the FDA's Enforcement page has alerted consumers to the recall, there is currently no information available regarding any illnesses related to the recall.
