One reason I LOVE 2020 (yep, you read that correctly) is the fact that roller-skating has made a comeback, is better than ever, and is A Thing™️ all the cool people are doing. If this is shocking news to you, then let me get you up to speed. In these past few months, people have been posting videos of themselves roller-skating on TikTok and Instagram. And no, not just any videos—super-soothing and vibe-y ones!

After watching a handful of these videos, there’s no way you’d not wanna hop on the trend. I guarantee it. So if you’re wanting to learn the basics of how to do the roller-skating thang, the very talented Oumi Janta collaborated with us to show you how to be an expert on ze wheels.

Before you try to do all the tricks while you’re on your skates, the first thing you must have down, per Janta’s professional insight, is your body position. This means: making a V with your feet, bending your knees, leaning forward, shifting your body one way, and bouncing. Obviously, easier said than done, but practice this so you get acclimated to it!
